Bernice LaRue (Brooks) Moore

Bernice LaRue Brooks Moore, 83, of Tifton died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Southern Care Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, April 10, 2016, in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with the Rev. Tim Henry officiating.  Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Saturday at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Moore’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Moore was born December 8, 1932, in Worth County to the late Jesse Ralph Brooks and Gladys Paulk Brooks.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Felton Moore who died in 2008; her step-mother, Julia Booth Brooks; and one son, Larry Wayne Moore.

Mrs. Moore retired from Queen Carpet in Tifton.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and her dogs, “Sweet Pea” and “Cheyenne,” and she loved to shop.  Her family was the most important thing in her life.  She was a member of the Independent Worship Center in Tifton.

Mrs. Moore is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law, Steve LaRue and Angela Moore of Ty Ty, Roy Michael and Jean Moore of Tifton, and Joyce Moore of Tifton; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Wanda and Steve Gay of Valdosta, Amelia and Todd Gann of Tifton, and Toni and Robert Gann of Tifton; her grandchildren, Michelle and Adrian Lee, Steve and Cricket Moore, Cole Moore and fiancee’ Dawn Stinson, Stephanie Phillips, Bo and Kerri Moore, Zachary Moore and fiancee’ Kristen Sapp, Skylar Moore, Tim and Jennie Morris, Sandy and Wayne Hamby, Gary and Jessica Moore, Rusty Moore, Leigh Ann and John Werner, Mason Gann, Colby Gann, Jenna Brooke Gann, and Ali Gann; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
