Barbara Ann Danforth Bloodworth, 90, of Tifton passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at her residence.
She was born August 28, 1932 in Tifton to the late Arthur Clarence (A.C.) Danforth and the late Lillian Willis Danforth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harrell Franklin Bloodworth; her son, Harrell Andrew Bloodworth; her sister, Esther Kathleen Dorminey and brother-in-law Virgil Dorminey.
Barbara was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and regularly attended and participated in meetings until, just a few weeks before her death, she was unable to do so due to her health. She grew up on the family farm and knew what hard work was all about. She graduated from Tift County High School and went on to ABAC for two years before working as office assistant for attorneys Seymour Owens and The Honorable John D. Crosby. She also worked at State Farm Insurance and Spence Field Airport in Moultrie, GA. After moving back from Moultrie with three small children to raise, she and Harrell started their own appliance business which eventually became Bloodworth Air Conditioning. There, she was office manager for over 50 years. During this time she also started selling AVON products winning the distinguished Presidents Club Membership and "Mrs P.F.E. Albee" award for outstanding sales and leadership 26 years in a row.
She was truly a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all her family. She never met a stranger because if she was in the grocery store, waiting in line at the bank, or even on the phone with you, within a few minutes of talking with her, you were either friend or kin.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Edna Leblanc (Lloyd); her son, Craig Bloodworth; her daughter, Gina Bloodworth Johnson (Kevin); her granddaughter, Lillian Johnson, all of Tifton; her grandson, Randy Bloodworth of TyTy; her granddaughter, Amanda Bloodworth Keys (Shannon); her great-grandson, Cole Keys; and her great-granddaughter Caitlyn Keys, all of Harrisburg, NC. Also, many nephews and nieces whom she cherished dearly.
