Anna Jane Smith, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on September 6, 2024 in Douglas, Georgia. Born on November 9, 1949, in Tift County, Georgia, Jane lived a life marked by her unwavering faith and devotion to her family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Albritton Funeral Directors located at 1020 Tift Ave N. Tifton, GA 31794. A funeral service held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Omega Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Omega City Cemetery.

Andy Hornbuckle, Andy Oliver, Kenny Swain, Earnest Harris, Steve Whittington, and Chad Baker will serve as pallbearers.

For many years, Jane dedicated herself as a stay-at-home mother, cherishing every moment spent nurturing her only son, Andy. Jane also served her community as a Pink Lady at Tift Regional Hospital. In later years, she found fulfillment as a Para Pro at Northside Primary School for the Tift County Board of Education, where she touched the lives of countless children and contributed to her community.

Jane was a proud graduate of Tift County High School. Throughout her life, she exemplified what it meant to be a loving Christian mother and grandmother. Her heart belonged to her son, Andy, and her dear grandson, Cameron.

Deeply rooted in her faith, Jane led an active prayer life and fostered a profound love for reading, particularly the Bible. She passionately attended Omega Baptist Church, when she was healthy, where her commitment to her Lord and her community shone brightly. Her interests included word searches, arts and crafts, and crossword puzzles, which she enjoyed during her leisure time.

Jane's family includes her son, Andy Smith; her grandson, Cameron Smith; her cherished nieces, Carla Perretta and Angie Weeks; and her great nephews, Ty Weeks and Jacob Sirmans.

She was preceded in death by her father, W.B. Cannington; her mother, Grace Oliver Cannington; her sister, Kay Weeks; her sister, Hilda Morris; and her niece, Misty Weeks.
