Mrs. Amy Lorine Lockhart Kendrick, 78, of Douglasville went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 1, 2022, free of the medical equipment that constrained her earthly body these past few years.
Her graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, July 7, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty cemetery with family and friends giving the eulogy. The family will not have a formal visitation.
She was born on December 9, 1943, to the late Clarence Lockhart and Velma Graham Lockhart in Worth County. Along with her parents, she is now rejoicing with her husband, Emmette Donald Kendrick, and six of her siblings in heaven. Her Christian faith carried her through many trials and tribulations and she loved her church family. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist church for over fifty years.
She grew up as one of eleven children, in a humble farming family, it was not an easy childhood. She went on to marry and move the “Big City” of Atlanta and started her own family and that is where she excelled. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her. She loved her grandbabies and great grandbabies more than anything else in the world. Her family said they can only hope to be a fraction of the caring, compassionate mother, grandmother and great-mother that she was. The world lost a shining star light this week and her family cannot wait to see her again.
Survivors include her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ray Kendrick of Winston, Rex and Mary Kendrick, and Ramon and Carol Kendrick and her daughter Kim Cosby all of Douglasville, her four grandsons, Stephen Kendrick, Joe Duncan and his girlfriend, Karen Warren, Brandon Duncan and Justin Kendrick, four granddaughters, Ashley Kendrick, Julia and her husband Bryan Purinton, Alicia Kendrick, and Brittany Kendrick, five great granddaughters, Kaylee Kimbrell, Kimberlee Duncan, Analiese Purinton, Jillian Kendrick, and Lillian Kendrick, two great grandsons, Gavin Purinton and Malachi Kendrick and four sisters, Robbie Tippins, Charlene Sanders, Gaynell Lang and Carolyn Willis.
