Mr. Alton Rudolph Ray, 72, of Tifton, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 9th in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Joe Carr and Rev. Brandon Hall officiating.

Mr. Ray was born September 24, 1947 in Tift County to the late James Ralph Ray and Cleo Pearman Ray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Samuel Luke Ray who died May 19, 2010. Mr. Ray was a member of CrossView Baptist Church of Tifton. Rudolph was a veteran of the United States Army and he was retired from Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Ray had lived in Tifton all of his life. He loved outdoors and enjoyed growing vegetables, especially gardening in general, fishing and hunting. Rudolph was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. As a family man, he enjoyed teaching lessons of life to his grandson. His favorite indoor activities were bowling and watching westerns on T.V.

Mr. Ray is survived by his wife, Kay Cauthen Ray, to whom he was married for forty-two years; his daughter and son-in-law, Keelee and Brandon Hall; his grandson, Gage Foster and several nieces and nephews. His cousins, Martha Ray and Louise Baker, have been especially close throughout his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CrossView Baptist Church of Tifton building fund, PO Box 1059, Tifton, Ga. 31793.
