Mr. Allen Wesley Varnadoe, 68 of Omega died Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Brad McVea and Rev. Joe Crumley officiating. The interment will follow in Omega City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, October 13, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Tyron Johnson, Haven Lamb, Buck Varnadoe, Lee Varnadoe, Danny Harrell and Ricky Turnmire will serve as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Hobbs, Julian Bennett, Terry Pafford, Rev. Ricky Wells, Bill Turnmire, Jackie Crumley, Charles “Shorty” Sumner and all the men at the Susie Q’s coffee table.
Allen was born in Moultrie to Lemmuel “Bud” and Minnie Pearl Casey Varnadoe on March 29, 1953. He graduated from Tift County High School in 1972. He had a forty-two-year career with Kelley Manufacturing Company as a machinist. After he retired from KMC, he would hang out with his brothers helping at Lenox Welding however he could and furnishing the daily snacks. In his free time, he loved riding his 1800cc Honda Motorcycle, fishing, and drinking coffee at Susie Q’s with all of his buddies. He was a quiet man, but when he said something, he said a lot. Along with being a great provider and role model for his family, he was a wonderful husband, dad, papa and brother
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Cynthia Baxley Varnadoe of Omega, his son, Daniel Wesley Varnadoe of Tifton, daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Chris Lamb of Chula, five grandchildren, Haven and Alex Lamb, Caden Lamb, Rylan Lamb, and Caroline Varnadoe, two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard and Sylvia Varnadoe of Sparks, Thomas and Kim Varnadoe of Omega, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ann and Brady Sumner of Norman Park, and Linda Varnadoe of Sparks, his two special aunts, Marie "sister" Ruis and her husband Bobby of Funston, and Mary Varnadoe of Leesburg, and Cynthia’s sister and her husband, Eloise and Scott Nipper of Enigma and her brother, John Baxley of Albany, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
