Jim was the eldest child of the marriage between the late Betty Clark Albritton and the late Richard Albritton.  Jim was raised to be a southern gentleman in Montezuma, GA, where he graduated from Macon County High School in 1975.  Along with his parents, he was also preceded by his brother David A. Albritton.  After high school, he attended Mercer University where he received a bachelor’s degree in English in 1979, and he was a brother of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.  After college, Jim arrived in Tifton where he met and married Karen Bryan on April 28, 1985.  To fulfill his desire to become a licensed funeral director, the couple moved north, where he attended Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and he graduated Cum Laude. After graduation the couple moved back to Tifton.  In 1988, Jim fulfilled his spiritual calling to open his own funeral home.  He devoted every day possible to bringing comfort to grieving families he served. When Jim was not working in his business, he enjoyed reading, fishing and watching movies about World War I & II.  He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where in previous years he had served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was currently on the Board of Directors of Hospice of Tift Area, and had served as the past president from the years of 2007-2009.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two loving daughters, Madeline Albritton of Jacksonville, FL and Millicent “Millie” Albritton of Macon, his two brothers and sister-in-law Scott and Cyndi Albritton of Ellaville and John Albritton of Fort Valley, Karen’s two brothers and sisters-in-law Randy and Barbara Bryan and Rob and Angie Bryan all of the Waterloo community, along with several nieces and nephews.
