Barbara Elizabeth (Whitley) Watson

Mrs. Barbara Elizabeth Whitley Watson, 80, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Mr. Guy Haynes officiating. The eulogy will be given by Kathy Plair. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jack Kirkland, Lewis Smith, Ken Peters, Roy Ferrel, Max Ledlow and Zenas Watson will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Watson was born January 15, 1943 in Tift County to the late Wayman Whitley and Sophrona Elizabeth Roberts Whitley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Watson, Jr who died November 18, 2017.; her daughter, Sandra Gail Faaborg, her granddaughter, Lakin Watson and her daughter-in-law, Deloris Watson. Mrs. Watson previously attended First Assembly of God of Tifton. Family was most important, but she loved her friends. She loved cooking, music and dancing. She especially enjoyed her fur babies.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her children, Jefferson Jet Watson of Abbeville, Wayman Watson of Tifton, Connie Elizabeth Watson Ledlow of Tifton and William Luther Watson of Albany; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and her aunt, Betsey Lou Sumner.
